Nienke (27) en Nils (29) zijn jeugdvrienden. Ze kennen elkaar 11 jaar en wonen 7 jaar samen. Ze vinden beiden dat de relatie over het algemeen goed loopt, maar dat ze geregeld in hardnekkige negatieve escalaties terechtkomen. Ze hebben 6 sessies bij een EFT therapeut gehad op het moment dat deze sessie wordt opgenomen.

In deze DVD schept de therapeut middels EFT interventies de voorwaarden waardoor beiden in contact komen met hun primaire aan hechting gerelateerde emoties en behoeften om met behulp van enactment een stap naar elkaar te doen opdat hun relatie (weer) een veilige haven wordt. Deze DVD laat een (live) sessie zien die zich procesmatig vooral in fase twee van het EFT proces afspeelt t.w. re-engagement withdrawer.

Op deze DVD ziet u de eerste volledige live EFT sessie in het Nederlands, welke werd opgenomen in 2012 in Nederland tijdens een basisopleiding Emotionally Focused Therapy. De live sessie werd uitgevoerd door Berry Aarnoudse, die Emotionally Focused Therapy demonstreert zoals het ontwikkeld is door dr. Sue Johnson.
Berry Aarnoudse is een door ICEEFT erkende opleider en supervisor in Emotionally Focused Therapy. Naast zijn werk als psychotherapeut gespecialiseerd in o.a. relatie- en gezinstherapie in eigen praktijk is hij werkzaam als docent en supervisor voor o.a. ICEEFT, NVRG en VGCT. Hij verzorgt zowel in binnen- en buitenland lezingen, workshops, trainingen en is één van de drijvende krachten achter het succesvolle Houd me Vast trainingsprogramma en Emotionally Focused Therapy for Families in Nederland. Hij is de medeoprichter van EFT Netwerk Nederland en de organisator van Creating Connections, the International Conference on Attachment, Neuroscience, Mentalization Based Treatment and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

In deze DVD werkt Berry Aarnoudse met John en Helmie, beiden veertigers en ruim vijftien jaar bij elkaar. Hun relatie kwam ernstig onder druk te staan toen Helmie aangaf te willen scheiden. Op de langste periode dat ze bij elkaar zijn kijken ze met tevredenheid op hun relatie terug. Vanaf het moment dat John door diverse omstandigheden thuis komt te zitten treedt een verandering op, die de verbondenheid in hun relatie ernstig bedreigt. Op het moment van deze live opname bevinden John en Helmie zich aan het begin van Fase II van het EFT proces.

In deze DVD laat Berry Aarnoudse zien hoe je emotionele ervaringen helpt te verdiepen door gebruik te maken van RISSSC; herhaling van woorden, gebruik van beelden, simpele taal, langzaam en zachter spreken.

Kijk hoe hij John helpt om meer in contact te komen met zijn onderliggende emoties en Helmie o.a met haar verborgen angst om voor John emotioneel kwetsbaar en toegankelijk te zijn.

Volg hoe hij gebruik maakt van diverse EFT interventies zoals empathische reflecties, evocatieve reacties, parafraseren en valideren om een snelle en veilige werkrelatie op te bouwen, om het ervaringsproces te helpen verdiepen en de voorwaarden te scheppen om zich voor elkaar kwetsbaar en open te kunnen stellen. Een voorwaarde voor een veilige en duurzame relatie.

This DVD set shows two complete live session that were conducted at an Externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy in 2010 in the Netherlands. The live sessions were carried out by Dr. Scott R. Woolley and Ms. Yolanda von Hockauf, both demonstrating Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy, as developed by Dr. Sue Johnson. (2 DVD set 2.8 hrs)

Yolanda von Hockauf, M.Ed, R.M.F.T.

Yolanda von Hockauf is a founding director of the Vancouver Couple & Family Institute. As a therapist in the original research study on EFT for Sue Johnson's doctoral dissertation at the University of British Columbia in 1983, Yolanda has been involved in EFT from the ground up. She is currently a member of the ICEEFT Education Committee as well as the International Committee.

Dr. Scott R. Woolley, PhD,

Dr. Scott R. Woolley is a Distinguished Professor and the Systemwide Director of the Couple and Family Therapy Masters and Doctoral Programs in the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. He is a founder and Director of the San Diego Center for EFT and the Executive Director of the Training and Research Institute for EFT at Alliant ( TRI EFT Alliant). Scott has worked closely with Sue Johnson for many years, and has provided over 40 international trainings in Asia, Europe, and South, Central and North America and over 100 trainings across the United States. Scott maintains an active practice in couple and family therapy.

On the first DVD you will see Dr. Scott Woolley working with Jan and Adrienne, both in their 60s and married for over 40 years. They grew up in families deeply traumatized as a result of the Second World War in the Netherlands. For many years they were disconnected – in what they called an “emotional desert” involving an intense negative cycle and extreme emotional distance. At the time of this live 13^th sessions they felt it was “starting to rain” occasionally in their emotional desert.

Watch Dr. Scott Woolley working in EFT stage ll, helping the withdrawer ( husband) connect with his emotions and invite his wife to come and be with him. Dr. Scott Woolley uses classic EFT interventions including reflection, empathic conjecture, evocative questioning, validation etc.

On the second DVD you will see Yolanda von Hockauf working with Karen en Piet both in their 50s and married for over twenty years. For most of their relationship Karin an d Piet were satisfied and both wanted her to be his “seeing eye dog” adjusting to his emotionally distant style and overcoming the influence of this to their relationship. Following a separation due to work twelve years ago, an increasingly destructive negative cycle began to develop in response to her desire  for a more emotionally intimate relationship with Piet and his distrust and anger in response to her expectations.

Watch Yolanda von Hockauf working in EFT Stage l, with a couple where a recent diagnoses of ASS for Piet helps explain the frustrating disconnect the couple has been experiencing. This live session demonstrates how our empathic attunement can help therapists adapt the EFT model to a wide range of clinical situations. This part of the DVD also demonstrates the power and universality of the EFT model.

De behandeling van trauma via de partnerrelatie is niet nieuw. Sue Johnson heeft vaak gesproken over de ontdekkingen die zij heeft gedaan bij de behandeling van de partnerrelaties bij getraumatiseerde brandweerlieden na 9/11 in New York, maar ook de effectieve behandelingen van getraumatiseerde veteranen die terugkeerden uit Afghanistan en Irak.
