Childhood trauma can have a lifelong impact on feelings of safety in the world and on coping strategies. Adult intimate relationships become overshadowed by feelings of shame, avoidance, and anger, as the raw attachment fears of rejection and abandonment take over. Negative cycles often are more entrenched and complex. Addictions may become an attempted solution to this painful dilemma.
In this advanced EFT workshop we will review the core ways trauma impacts adult couple relationships, and how we ourselves can start to feel dysregulated (overwhelmed, hopeless) as well. We will join together to learn and practice how to stay present and help our couples navigate their way toward a safer bond, where they can express their attachment fears and longings in a more coherent, vulnerable manner.
Whether you have taken previous EFT training in trauma, shame and/or addictions, this workshop is for you! Come and share, grow, learn, and experience the power of using attachment as a corrective experience. You are strongly encouraged to bring a tape or stuck place from your own work. There is the possibility of a live consultation.
